TweetVancouver Featured in National Geographic’s 50 Places of a Lifetime
Pick up the Special Collector’s Issue of National Geographic Traveler and you’ll find Vancouver featured as “50 Places of a Lifetime, The World’s Greatest Destinations”. I don’t think that shocks a lot of people that live in this laid-back coastal city-entrenched in natural beauty and a liveliness that’s bar-none. What are some of the other must-do destinations featured? The list is broken up in to Urban Spaces, Wild Places, Paradise Found, Country Unbound, and World Wonders.

TweetTop 10 Visitor Flickr Pics We Love
Over the past few years, through thousands of visitors to the park, The Capilano Suspension Bridge has accumulated quite the Flickr following with over 14,000 photos tagged of the park. The best part about it is having everyone share their experience through the lens of the camera with others. I love digging through the photos and seeing different perspectives and insights on how people interpret nature, the bridge, and their overall surroundings. Below you’ll find my favourite pics (although there are so so many fantastic ones!)

Capilano Oscars Party Photo Recap
The ‘Oscars’ is an annual event that celebrates the end of the summer season. It is a thank you to all Capilano Suspension Bridge team members and, after food and festivities, recognizes accomplishments within each department. This year’s theme was all about “Camp Capilano”. The Canyon Lookout at the park set the stage for a night of camp songs, S’mores, delicious bites, and a lot of socializing!
The ‘Oscars’ culminates with the presentation of Capilano Scholarships, the Capilanitude Award and the Capilano video. The Scholarships and Capilanitude Award are special presentations from park Owner and President Nancy Stibbard . The Scholarships recognize a team member’s contribution to Capilano and their community in addition to their exceptional academic accomplishment. Capilanitude recognizes someone who Nancy finds invaluable, someone who leads by example. At the end of the evening the video highlights team members at work and at play and offers a lasting memory of summer at Capilano.
It was a fantastic way to wrap up the Summer and acknowledge all of the hard work that goes into making the Park such a magical place. You can see all of the photos from the party here.
