A Message of Condolence from the Capilano Suspension Bridge
Our hearts go out to the family and friends of the guest who died tragically in an incident yesterday evening in the park. Based on information provided to us by the RCMP, the guest fell from a fenced viewing point on the West side of the park.
We don’t know the circumstances of the incident which is currently being investigated by the RCMP. What we do know is that the RCMP has stated that it was not a safety issue. Safety of our guests has always been a top priority for us.
We will keep you updated with whatever information we receive from the RCMP.

What Does Christmas Mean to You?

Every year around this time, most people are finishing their mad scramble at shopping malls and department stores, hoping to get the perfect gift for their loved ones. We’re rushing to get everything wrapped, the perfect dinner made, and a festive outfit for the occasion to top it all off. Although our intentions are good, we could be losing sight of what’s really important.
What Does Christmas Mean to You?Holiday Tip: Tie the Perfect Ribbon
How to Tie the Perfect Ribbon When Stacy Chala, our Communications Manager was wrapping up a few Capilano Christmas gifts, I couldn’t help but notice the precision and speed of her ribbon wrapping. I’m not going to lie, I was very impressed. Maybe I’m alone on this, but I’ve always wondered how one piece of ribbon is continually tied to cover a present. Well, it’s not a mystery anymore! In this video Stacy is going to show us how to tie the perfect ribbon. Enjoy!

Help Stuff the Bus with Blankets & Warm Clothing at Capilano Suspension Bridge between Oct 11- 18
We’re very excited to be participating in LandSea Tours’ 3rd annual Stuff the Bus Charity Drive happening between October 11-18th to coincide with Vancouver’s Homeless Awareness Week. LandSea’s vision for this charity drive is to “see it grow year to year, and to be the first stepping stone in uniting the tourism industry to help clean up our streets.” They have taken all of the seats out of one of their 24 passenger buses, and will try to Stuff the Bus to the ceiling with blankets and warm clothing.
The bus will be parking at various locations throughout Metro Vancouver including the Capilano Suspension Bridge for 7 days and encourage employees and residents to bring down donations. Every bit helps so pack up some warm clothing or blankets that you think someone will benefit from and join us.
All blankets and warm clothing will be donated to the St. James Community Service Society, a grassroots organization with a long history of community building in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside. The Society was founded in 1961 and incorporated in 1975.
So go through your closets and save up some old clothes and blankets and bring them to the Capilano Suspension Bridge between October 11 – 18. There will be a box at admin and at Guest Services. We hope to see you there!

Vancouver city lights at night
When you’re traveling to a new place and you don’t have the luxury of having a friend that can moonlight as a tour guide, you’ll need the next best thing. Having some handy city resources will allow you to completely immerse yourself in your new surroundings, soak up cultural idiosyncrasies, and enjoy the best of what the city has to offer. Besides, it’s always better to create your experiences consciously, rather than stumbling around aimlessly looking for something to do or someplace to eat. Although, there’s nothing wrong with a bit of spontaneity either!
We’ve put together a mini online resource list that may help you on your next trip to Vancouver, or discover more of the city if you live here. We hope this will help you pick some interesting attractions, find a great place to eat, discover style and beauty advice from local experts, and familiarize yourself with Vancouver’s culture. And by the way… enjoy your stay!
