Wondering what to wear when you visit our wonderful park? Here is a guide to give you a hand. These tips are also helpful to people visiting Vancouver in general. Since our weather is so wonderfully unpredictable, it’s a good thing to know
At least it keeps things exciting and the air fresh!
Don’t
Stilettos can get caught in our wooden planks. Unless you want to break a foot, or worse, lose a heel, then keep the stilettos in your bag for partying after.
Do
Flats are just as stylish as heels. When you are happily walking across our bridge and through our trails, your feet will agree. If you want to really be prepared, wear some sneakers.
Don’t
I’m sure your Sunday Best looks great, but I wouldn’t wear it here. You may get a little dirty, sweaty, or rained on.
Do
Wear normal clothing. Vancouverites like to be trendy but practical. We know that it may be hot, or it may pour. Layer and wear clothes that can be used wherever you go throughout the day.
Don’t
Even if it’s hot during the summer, cover up a little. There could be a freak rainstorm. You never know. This will also help prevent sunburns.
Do
If it’s cold or rainy, bring a jacket. Another option is always to buy a nice one from our Trading Post Gift Shop. (Sorry… there had to be a shameless sales plug somewhere!
Don’t
Wear your expensive jewelry to the park. We have a large collection of lost bracelets, necklaces, watches, and earrings in our lost and found. We know how sad it is when you lose that rare diamond necklace your dad bought you for your 16th birthday.
Do
Keep your sentimental and expensive jewelry at home so that you don’t lose it in the forest!
And most importantly DO remember to breathe in the fresh and fabulous cedar tree air and enjoy your time at the Capilano Suspension Bridge.
